The 2013 Python Challenge™ is hosted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). However the two free public events in south Florida and the month-long competition to harvest Burmese pythons would not be possible without the dedication and collaboration of many individuals and organizations supporting this effort to inform the public about Burmese pythons and their threat to the Florida Everglades.
We are grateful to the many partners participating in the 2013 Python Challenge™. Key partners include:
The Future of Hunting in Florida
University of Florida
The Nature Conservancy
Wildlife Foundation of Florida
Other participating organizations and agencies include:
Everglades Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area; Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services; Lincoln Culinary Institute; Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida; South Florida Water Management District; U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; U.S. National Park Service; U.S. Geological Survey; Venom 1.
A special thanks to the Felburn Foundation and Flowers Foundation for their generous sponsorships of the 2013 Python Challenge™.
